Army towed guns’ tender jinxed, junked

The Indian Army has issued a Request For Information (RFI) for towed artillery guns, effectively canceling the previous process for procurement of these weapons systems, in which BAE Systems was fielding the FH77 B05 against Singapore Technologies (ST) Kinetics’ iFH 2000.

Blog: US guns for India a done deal?

It looks like India is going to purchase light artillery guns from the US after all. The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified the US Congress of the sale of 145 units of the British Aerospace Land Systems’ M777 howitzer to India for US $ 647 million, offering a caveat saying, ‘this notice of a potential sale is required by law and does not mean the sale has been concluded’.

MoD blacklists 7 defense vendors

The Indian Ministry of Defense has blacklisted seven defense companies for alleged involvement in the deals tainted by corruption discovered with the arrest of the former Director General of Ordinance Factories, Sudipta Ghosh.
