U.S. clears V-22, E-2D sales in USD 7 billion announcement
DSCA approvals were announced for eight V-22s to Indonesia and three E-2Ds to France as part of five separate sales amounting to USD 7.48 billion.

The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced approvals for 08 V-22 tiltrotor aircraft to Indonesia, 03 E-2Ds Advanced Hawkeye aircraft to France, 06 UG-60M Black Hawk helicopters to Lithuania and 27 Stryker ICVs to Argentina as part of five separate sales amounting to USD 7.48 billion.

Eurocopter sets up India subsidiary

Eurocopter announced its wholly owned India subsidiary, Eurocopter India Private Limited on Wednesday, saying it intends to develop a countrywide MRO network. The Indian unit is Eurocopter’s 25th subsidiary and will be headquartered in New Delhi.

IAI to unveil tilt-rotor UAV

The Panther is a tactical UAV that ‘combines the flight capabilities of an airplane with helicopter-like hovering, a tilt-rotor propeller, and a fixed wing Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) system, which enables a runway-free takeoff and landing on an unprepared area’.

Offset concerns leave vendors uneasy

The offset requirements raised to 50 per cent with the onset of the Defense Procurement Procedure (DPP) last August, continue to make foreign defense vendors uncomfortable. Bell helicopters had dropped out of the race to supply 197 helicopters to the Indian armed forces because of exactly this reason.
