i do not like the idea of India behaving like a great power before time; we are well placed to establish good will with the afghan people and govt. through exercise of soft power + extend training support to afghan security forces. military involvement in afghanistan without UN sponsorship, seems to be a cavalier idea.

moreover, lets not overestimate our experience or success in COIN...LTTE experience reminds the difference between doing it domestically as against in somebody else's country.

The strategy needs to be thought out, firstly do no enter till the US requests help. We don't need to rush,we have defeated Pak from One side earlier.

But India should start preparing in the form of Infra and Medico Aid to afghanis so that after 3-4 years when we deploy we will have the local populace on our side.

What logistical issues, may i ask ?? the whole CIS and Russia is present, we just need USD$ from the US congress to fund us.
