Bell Boeing to brief India on V-22 Osprey
Minister of State for Defense, Mallipudi Mangapati Pallam Raju, accompanied by the deputy chief of the Indian Navy, Vice Admiral Satish Soni, asked the Bell Boeing V-22 Tiltrotor Team for a briefing on the aircraft.
Dhoni, Bindra commissioned honorary Lt. Colonels

Navy’s P-8I takes off
The Indian Navy’s first P-8I, Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft took off on its first flight on Wednesday from Renton field in the US State of Washington, taking off at 1202 hours and landing two hours and 31 minutes later, at Boeing field in Seattle.
Naval LCA starts its engine
The naval LCA is still not ideally suitable for carrier-based operations, with the current GE-F404 engine slightly underpowered. This will change with the development of the naval version of the LCA Mk II, which will be powered by the GE-F414 engine.
Coast Guard aims for ambitious expansion
Defense Minister Arackaparambil Kurian Antony: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) will be one of the biggest in this sector in the world by 2018. ICG assets have increased by 50 percent and the number of stations will go up from 22 to 42. Indian shipyards are building 156 vessels for the ICG and 12 Dornier aircraft will be inducted within two years.
Saab offers India ‘unjammable’ RBS 70 NG VSHORAD
The RBS 70 NG is a ‘beam-rider’, steered by a user-operated laser beam and is not susceptible to deception by counter-measures dispensed by target aircraft, like chaff or flares.
First look: The Navy’s new P-8I
The Indian Navy’s first P-8I Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance aircraft looks painted and ready. But the crucial bells and whistles are still to come and the aircraft will be delivered in early 2013, ahead of seven others.
